PITCH is a not-profit-making international association established under Belgium law. Its purpose is described in Article 3 of its statutes:

Art. 03 - Technologies, from the wheel to the printing press, from maritime construction to television, are tools for the dissemination of information and knowledge. However, for the first time in history, the technologies are now characterized in two absolutely new and disruptive ways. On the one hand they now allow the dissemination of information by almost any individual - and not only the dissemination of the ideas of an elite, as allowed by printing presses, or of the powerful, as was made possible by television. On the other hand this dissemination and the impact of knowledge thus transmitted will from now on be truly global.

In order that such upheavals, which the Associates believe will be irreversible, lead society and mankind to progress, they should be as far as possible based on interoperable technologies that are made available globally.

The Association "For the Promotion of International Technological Co-operation for Humanistic ends", PITCH, builds upon the idea that, to be widely accessible, these technologies must be defined and be developed with the involvement of communities of researchers wherever and whoever they are in the world. The Association has therefore as its objective the promotion of international technological and scientific co-operation, in particular relating to the information and the knowledge society, as the vector of durable development of a humanistic society.

The activities of the Association will be directed mainly towards the dissemination and the promotion of knowledge, education and training relating to the above. The Association will endeavor to animate an Internet information page and an Internet forum open to its members and, partly, to the public. It will also regularly invite one or more lecturers to develop ideas and concepts in agreement with the object of the Association at the occasion of private gatherings of its members or in public events.
